Seven months in Thailand, zero times at the beach – probably quite unusual. Instead, I discovered the mostly unexplored North-Eastern part known as Isaan. It’s famous for super spicy papaya salad and sticky rice, but nature, mountains, huge yet empty temples and incredibly friendly people are the real reason why you will come back. Thailand ticks so many boxes for me – friendliness of people, food, weather, diversity of nature and ease of travelling within the whole SEA region – that it might be my favourite location if working conditions were not a concern.
